CM Dhami Releases ₹147 Crore in Social Security Pensions to 9.91 Lakh Beneficiaries Through One-Click Transfer

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday released the social security pension amount for August 2026 under various pension schemes through a one-click transfer from the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. A total of ₹147 crore and ₹5.51 lakh was transferred directly into the bank accounts of 991,914 beneficiaries.

In August, pensions were also sanctioned for 5,605 new beneficiaries under various social security pension schemes. These include 3,945 beneficiaries under the old-age pension scheme, 1,000 under the widow pension scheme, 416 under the disability pension scheme, 106 under the farmer pension scheme, 23 under the deserted women’s pension scheme and 115 beneficiaries receiving maintenance grants.

Chief Minister Dhami said that providing social security to vulnerable, needy and deprived sections of society was a priority of the state government. He said the government was committed to ensuring that every eligible person receives the benefits of welfare schemes in a simple and timely manner.

He directed officials to identify eligible beneficiaries who are unable to obtain Aadhaar for any reason and make arrangements for account-based payments so that no eligible person is deprived of pension benefits due to Aadhaar-related issues.

During the presentation, officials said that out of the total pension beneficiaries, 214,711 are covered under the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), while 777,203 beneficiaries are covered under state-level schemes. The August pension disbursement includes approximately ₹140.11 crore as the state’s share and ₹6.94 crore as the Centre’s share.

The Chief Minister directed officials to make the pension delivery system simpler, more transparent and beneficiary-oriented. He said there should be no negligence at any level in ensuring that government scheme benefits reach eligible beneficiaries.
