CM Dhami reviews trade and infrastructure in border areas, focuses on Banbasa Land Port project

 New Delhi: CM Pushkar Singh Dhami held a review meeting with the Chairman of the Land Ports Authority of India, Jayant Singh, and senior officials regarding strengthening trade, transportation, and infrastructure in border areas.

He reviewed the progress of the under-construction modern land port project at Banbasa (Gudmi) on the India-Nepal border. The project is considered a significant step toward enhancing international connectivity by linking it to the Asian Highway Network.

Discussions were also held on strengthening border trade, transport, and infrastructure in areas like Dharchula and Jhulaghat. The CM emphasized prioritizing local needs and public interest to ensure better market access for local products and boost the regional economy.

He added that development in border areas will not only improve connectivity but also generate employment opportunities. He directed authorities to complete projects in a timely and organized manner to ensure benefits reach the public quickly.
