CM Dhami urges 100% LPG supply from Minister Hardeep Puri, also meets Hema Malini

Dehradun/New Delhi: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri in Delhi. The meeting took place at Kartavya Bhavan in New Delhi, where the CM discussed several important issues considering the state’s geographical conditions and disaster sensitivity.

CM Dhami requested that the supply of commercial LPG cylinders be maintained at 100% as before to ensure smooth, safe, and uninterrupted conduct of the Char Dham Yatra. He stated that the yatra, which runs from April to November, attracts lakhs of devotees from India and abroad, significantly increasing the demand for commercial LPG. During this period, the state requires approximately 967,949 commercial LPG cylinders.

He further said that during the monsoon period (June to September), the state faces natural disasters every year. Due to mountainous terrain and difficult conditions, LPG plays a crucial role in disaster management and relief operations. In this context, he requested an additional 5% allocation (around 48,397 cylinders) to ensure effective and timely rescue operations.

The CM noted that Uttarakhand’s economy is largely tourism-based, with religious tourism, pilgrimage, and adventure tourism playing key roles. The Char Dham Yatra is central to the state’s faith, cultural identity, and economic activity.

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri assured positive consideration of all proposals and reiterated the central government’s commitment to the state.

It is worth noting that the Char Dham Yatra began on April 19. Over 50,000 devotees participate daily. On Sunday, April 26, more than 59,000 pilgrims took part, and so far, over 297,000 devotees have completed the yatra.

Meanwhile, during his Delhi visit, CM Dhami also met renowned actress and Mathura MP Hema Malini at Uttarakhand Niwas. He presented her with products from Uttarakhand’s umbrella brand “House of Himalayas” as a gift and shared this information on social media platform X.
