Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, taking a tough stand on law and order in the state, has clearly stated that laxity or compromise will not be tolerated at any level. The Chief Minister directed that cases be filed immediately for all types of crimes and that strict and effective action be taken against criminals.
The Chief Minister was chairing a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence today to review the state’s law and order situation. The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police (DGP), Home Secretary, ADGP (Law and Order), Garhwal Commissioner, and senior police and government officials.
Instructions for Strict Vigilance on Organized Criminals
Chief Minister Dhami directed strict vigilance, especially on criminals involved in habitual and organized crime. He said that such elements should be identified and strict action should be taken against them under legal provisions, so that the fear of law is established in society and the public feels safe. He stated that criminals will not be spared under any circumstances. Strict action should be taken against those who take the law into their own hands, anti-social elements, and those attempting to disrupt the peace of the state.
The Chief Minister directed the police department to work with utmost vigilance, vigilance, and accountability. He said that the functioning of police stations and outposts should be made more effective. Regular patrolling and surveillance should be increased in sensitive areas. He also directed special campaigns to improve traffic and security in urban areas. The Chief Minister said that law and order matters should be regularly reviewed and accountability should be established at every level.
Pledge for a “Crime-Free Uttarakhand”
Chief Minister Dhami gave a clear message to the officials that results should be visible on the ground and the public should experience real security. He said that his government is working with the resolve of a “crime-free Uttarakhand.” Peace, security, and good governance in the state are the government’s top priorities. The Chief Minister reiterated that ensuring the safety of ordinary citizens is the government’s responsibility, and negligence at any level will not be tolerated. He expected the officials to take coordinated and effective action to further strengthen the rule of law. In the meeting, a detailed review of the current law and order situation of the state was done and strategic guidelines were decided for crime control.
