Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed officials to ensure the timely, high-quality, and satisfactory resolution of public grievances registered on the CM Helpline-1905, making it clear that any negligence in addressing complaints will not be tolerated. During a review meeting held at the Secretariat on Thursday, the Chief Minister said that the prompt resolution of public grievances is the government’s top priority and that accountability will be fixed at every level.
Expressing concern over the large number of pending complaints related to the Drinking Water Department and the Jal Jeevan Mission, the Chief Minister directed that all such cases be resolved within one week. He also instructed that officials with a zero percent action rate on complaints be issued show-cause notices immediately, and disciplinary action be initiated if their responses are found unsatisfactory.
The Chief Minister further directed that Samadhan Diwas (Public Grievance Resolution Day) be held every Monday at the district level by District Magistrates, at the divisional level by Divisional Commissioners, and at the state level by all Secretaries to ensure effective grievance redressal. He also instructed officials to expedite the resolution of land disputes, ensure that retired employees receive their pensions from the very first month after retirement, and conduct on-site inspections of the Char Dham Yatra routes to strengthen arrangements.
During the review meeting, officials informed that between 18 April and 28 July 2026, a total of 67,843 complaints were received through CM Helpline-1905. Of these, 20,461 complaints were fully resolved, 31,363 were partially resolved, 7,404 are under process, 4,061 remain pending, and 3,738 were closed under the Special Close category. Officials stated that both the speed and quality of grievance redressal have improved compared to earlier.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister also spoke directly over the phone with complainants from Almora, Tehri, Haridwar, and Udham Singh Nagar to assess the status of their grievances and issued necessary directions to the concerned officials. He said that in the next review meeting, departments will be evaluated not only on the number of complaints resolved but also on the quality of resolution and the satisfaction of the complainants.
