Dehradun: The results of the biennial elections of the Uttarakhand Secretariat Association have been declared. After several days of campaigning and voting, employees elected their new representatives. The most discussed contest was for the post of president, where Deepak Joshi secured a major victory and once again took charge of the Secretariat Association.
The presidential contest was considered a direct fight between Deepak Joshi and Pradeep Papnai. Both camps campaigned aggressively throughout the election period. In the final results:
- Deepak Joshi received 594 votes.
- Pradeep Papnai secured 485 votes.
Deepak Joshi won by a margin of 109 votes.
His victory is being viewed as a strong comeback and a sign of significant support within Secretariat politics. After the results were announced, celebrations continued in the Secretariat premises for a long time.
Interesting Contests for Other Posts
- Rakesh Joshi won the post of Senior Vice President by defeating Abhinav Bhatt.
- Sanjay Kumar Sharma won the Vice President post, defeating Jagat Singh Dasila and Dinesh Uniyal.
- Pramila Tamta secured a major victory for the post of Women Vice President with 630 votes, while her rival Renu Bhatt received 451 votes.
- Rajendra Ratudi won the post of General Secretary by defeating Vimal Joshi.
- Atul Kumar Singh won the Secretary post with 498 votes, defeating Amit Kumar and Pushkar Singh Negi.
Employees’ Expectations from the New Team
During the election campaign, issues such as employees’ welfare, promotions, facilities, and working conditions were strongly raised. Following the formation of the new executive body, employees are now focused on how effectively election promises will be implemented.
Employees stated that the new team should not remain limited to election politics alone but must take concrete steps to resolve the pending issues of Secretariat employees. With the conclusion of the Secretariat Association elections, a new chapter in Secretariat politics has begun.
