Dehradun: Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan has directed all departments to immediately implement necessary technical and institutional reforms for better execution of centrally sponsored schemes and externally aided projects in the state.
While reviewing departmental progress during a Secretaries’ Committee meeting at the Secretariat, he said that adopting new updates, innovations, and technological simplifications would help ensure timely and adequate release of funds from the Central Government.
Officials were instructed to make project-related processes more effective and transparent. Departments planning to introduce new IT-based services and innovations were asked to complete trial runs without delay.
The Chief Secretary also emphasized that departments must submit Utilization Certificates (UCs) and other required documents promptly to the concerned ministries once project work is completed. This will help avoid delays in future fund releases.
He further directed departments to take immediate action wherever new policies are needed or amendments to existing policies are required. According to him, administrative simplification and technological integration are essential for accelerating development projects funded through central assistance.
