Dhami Government Assigns Key Responsibilities to Former Soldiers, Party Workers, and BJP Leaders

Dehradun: Ahead of the Assembly elections, the Uttarakhand government has made several important appointments in councils and advisory bodies, a move being viewed as an effort to strengthen organizational balance and engage various social groups.

One of the most notable appointments is that of Dinesh Agarwal, who recently joined the BJP after leaving Congress. He has been appointed as an Advisor to the SETU Aayog.

Senior leader Jot Singh Bisht has been appointed Vice-Chairman of the Rural Engineering Services Council.

In the Uttarakhand State Ex-Servicemen Welfare Advisory Council, Shamsher Singh Bisht has been named Vice-Chairman, while Captain Gambhir Singh Dhami has been appointed Senior Vice-Chairman.

Representing the Gorkha community, Jyoti Kotiya has been appointed Chairperson of the Gorkha Welfare Council, while Abhishek Shahi has been made Vice-Chairman.

Political observers see these appointments as an effort by the government to recognize dedicated party workers, former soldiers, and senior leaders who have joined the BJP in recent years, while also sending a political message ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
