Dhami Government Encouraging Meritorious Students: 21,743 Students Receive Scholarships Worth Over ₹17 Crore

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government is continuously making efforts to encourage meritorious students in the state. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, a total of 21,743 meritorious students have been provided scholarships under various schemes so far.

A total scholarship amount of ₹17,67,77,300 has been distributed to these students.

The highest number of beneficiaries has been under the Chief Minister Meritorious Student Incentive Scholarship Scheme, through which 17,852 meritorious students have received scholarships.

During the budget session of the Assembly, Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat informed the House that under this scheme, meritorious students from Class 6 to Class 12 are being given scholarships ranging from ₹600 to ₹1200.

Apart from this scheme, the state also runs several other scholarship programs including the Dr. Shivanand Nautiyal Memorial Scholarship Scheme, the Shridev Suman State Merit Scholarship Scheme, and the National Indian Military Corps Scholarship Scheme.

Through these schemes, financial assistance is provided to meritorious students to support their education.

According to government data, 3,289 students have benefited under the Shridev Suman State Merit Scholarship Scheme, while 527 students have received scholarships under the Dr. Shivanand Nautiyal Memorial Scholarship Scheme.

Additionally, meritorious students from Uttarakhand who are studying in Sainik Schools located outside the state are also being provided scholarships by the state government to encourage talented students to progress in the field of education.
