Dehradun/Gairsain: The Uttarakhand government led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami presented the state’s biggest-ever budget during the Assembly’s budget session held in Gairsain.
The budget has been prepared keeping in mind the overall development of the state and future requirements. The major announcements made by the government aim to strengthen infrastructure and create new employment opportunities at the local level.
Announcement of Three New Smart Cities
Considering rapid urbanization and population growth, the government has announced the development of three new smart cities in the state. The goal is to equip these cities with modern and world-class facilities to ensure a better quality of life for residents.
The proposed smart cities will focus on modern transportation systems, digital connectivity and safe drinking water facilities.
Focus on Environmental Protection
While developing the new smart cities, special emphasis will also be placed on environmental conservation. The planning will include better roads, reliable electricity supply and promotion of green spaces while ensuring sustainable development.
Boost to Investment and Employment
The government believes that the development of new smart cities will attract investment in the state. This will encourage industries and businesses and create more employment opportunities for local youth. The aim is to place Uttarakhand among the leading states in terms of development.
Balanced Development of Villages and Cities
The budget also focuses on the development of rural areas along with urban growth. The government said balanced development of the state is possible only when both villages and cities progress together.
Several new initiatives have also been announced in sectors such as roads, education, healthcare and tourism to ensure that people living in remote mountainous areas also benefit from development.
