Dhami government’s gift: ₹16 crore approved for development works and relief

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial assistance of around ₹16 crore for development works and relief measures in Uttarakhand.

According to official information, a major portion of this amount will be provided as untied funds to districts, allowing them to undertake development works based on local priorities. This is expected to speed up works related to roads, drainage, public facilities, and other local needs.

Some funds have also been allocated for relief work in disaster-affected areas to ensure timely assistance and rehabilitation.

Separate funds have been approved for sewer line-related work in the Pithuwala area of Dehradun, which will improve drainage facilities and provide relief to residents.

The Chief Minister stated that the government’s focus is on development and public welfare, and efforts are being made to accelerate implementation of schemes. Greater financial autonomy to districts is expected to improve local decision-making.

This decision is being seen as an important step toward strengthening infrastructure and directly benefiting the public.
