Dehradun. Preparations have been intensified for the visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Haridwar on March 7. During the visit, a special exhibition based on the new criminal laws will be organized to provide important information about these laws to the general public and youth.
This state-level exhibition will be held from March 7 to 9 at Bairagi Camp, where the key features of three new criminal laws—Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam—will be presented in a simple and easy-to-understand manner.
The exhibition will prominently highlight provisions such as mandatory time-bound investigation and filing of charge sheets, the system of zero FIR and online FIR registration, compulsory scientific investigation in crimes punishable with more than seven years of imprisonment, and legal recognition of digital evidence. Information regarding new provisions related to crimes against women and children, organized crime, cybercrime, and terrorism will also be presented.
On the occasion of the state government completing four years in office, the exhibition will also showcase the government’s major achievements. Development works related to roads, health, education, tourism, investment, and the development of border areas under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will be displayed.
According to Director General of Information Banshidhar Tiwari, the objective of the exhibition is to provide simple and clear information to the public about the new laws and government schemes. During the program, Home Minister Amit Shah will also address a public gathering in Haridwar.
