Dehradun: The Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC), chaired by Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, approved several key development projects during a meeting held at the Secretariat on Monday. These included the revised cost of Haridwar Medical College, construction of a new Regional Transport Office (RTO) building in Haldwani, a UREDA office building, and the Sahastradhara Road water supply scheme.
The Chief Secretary approved the revised cost of the Government Medical College, Haridwar, and directed that the institution be made fully operational at the earliest. He also instructed officials to expedite faculty recruitment and ensure adequate financial provisions for the college’s maintenance.
The committee also approved the construction of the Regional Transport Office (RTO) building in Haldwani. The earlier proposal was cancelled, and the project, estimated at approximately ₹35.69 crore, will now be implemented as a new project.
Additionally, approval was granted for the construction of a Super ECBC office building at the UREDA Energy Park campus at a cost of ₹16.13 crore, along with the Sahastradhara Road water supply scheme, estimated at ₹113.16 crore.
Principal Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Brijesh Kumar Sant, Secretary Sridhar Babu Addanki, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
