Dehradun: The Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand will begin on April 19 with the opening of the portals of Gangotri Temple and Yamunotri Temple.
To ensure safe and hygienic food for pilgrims, the Food Safety and Drug Administration Uttarakhand has strengthened its monitoring system.
Under the new arrangement:
- Food establishments must display their food licence prominently so that customers can easily see it.
- Quick Response Teams (QRTs) have been formed to inspect food outlets.
- Teams from Kumaon will inspect Garhwal region and vice versa to ensure transparency in inspections.
According to Additional Commissioner Tajbar Singh Jaggi, mobile food testing vans will also be deployed in Rishikesh and Haridwar, where the pilgrimage begins.
