Government takes strict stand on human-wildlife conflict, CM Dhami calls for permanent solutions

Haldwani/Nainital: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired a high-level review meeting at the Circuit House in Haldwani regarding human-wildlife conflict, tourism preparations, and basic infrastructure.

Expressing concern over increasing incidents of human-wildlife conflict, he directed officials to work on permanent solutions and fix departmental accountability. He ordered installation of solar fencing and alert systems in sensitive areas, along with 24×7 active joint quick response teams of forest and police departments.

Regarding the tourism season, he instructed that roads be kept pothole-free, traffic management strengthened, and shuttle services and alternative parking arranged. Under “Operation Prahar,” strict action will be taken against hooliganism, substance abuse, and overcharging at tourist spots.

He also reviewed the Jamrani Dam project and directed its completion within the तय timeline, stating it will help solve drinking water issues and control floods in the Terai-Bhabar region.

He further instructed speeding up the process of declaring Bindukhatta as a revenue village and ensuring proper electricity and water supply during summer and monsoon.
