Haridwar: Preparations for the proposed Kumbh Mela 2027 in Haridwar are now rapidly gaining momentum. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the Kumbh Mela Control Building to review major infrastructure projects related to the fair and laid the foundation stone for 34 important development works costing Rs 234 crore.
These projects include the construction of new ghats, expansion of road and transportation systems, strengthening drinking water facilities, and the development of permanent facilities for devotees. The government states that these works will not be limited to the Kumbh event alone but will also serve as a strong foundation for the long-term development of Haridwar city.
Cabinet ministers, administrative officials, and senior officials from relevant departments were present during the event. Discussing the progress of preparations in detail, the Chief Minister gave clear instructions that all permanent and temporary works related to the Kumbh should be completed within the stipulated timeframe. He said that these works are being monitored personally.
Chief Minister Dhami stated that the government’s goal is not only to organize the Kumbh, but also to provide devotees with a grand and divine experience, so that they return with the blessings of Mother Ganga through improved arrangements.
Continuous review meetings are being held at the government level regarding the Kumbh Mela. Traditional arrangements are also being finalized by establishing dialogue with the Akharas and the saint community, so that the event can be completed with complete dignity and in an orderly manner.
