Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that the Himalayas are not merely a geographical region, but a vital foundation of India’s spiritual, cultural, and natural consciousness. Preserving Himalayan folk traditions and heritage is the collective responsibility of all.
On the occasion of Hindi Diwas, the Chief Minister launched the inaugural issue of ‘Himalayan Sanskriti’, a magazine dedicated to Himalayan culture, traditions, and local life, at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan located in the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. He appreciated the effort to bring various aspects related to the rich cultural traditions, folk faiths, customs, folk art, folk literature, history, heritage, and environmental conservation of the Himalayan states to the general public through this publication.
The Chief Minister noted that the magazine could play a crucial role in acquainting the younger generation with the unique cultural identity of the Himalayas. Along with serving as a reference source for the vibrant cultural heritage of Himalayan society, it will also help provide a new direction for environmental awareness and sensitivity.
Rajneesh Kaunswal, the editor of the magazine, shared that the special edition attempts to bring together various facets of Himalayan culture, folk memories, traditional knowledge, folk arts, social concerns, and environmental consciousness onto a single platform.
On this occasion, Raipur MLA Umesh Sharma Kau, BJP City President Siddharth Agrawal, Vinod Khanduri, Badri-Kedar Temple Committee Vice President Prasad Sati, member Rajpal Jaddhari, Vipin, senior journalist Harish Kothari, along with several dignitaries and culture enthusiasts were present.
