Dehradun: The festival of colors, Holi, is being celebrated across the state with great enthusiasm and joy. On this occasion, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of the state. Congress State President Ganesh Godiyal also conveyed his Holi wishes and participated in various celebrations.
CM Dhami Extends Holi Greetings
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, in a message posted on his social media platform ‘X’, said that Holi symbolizes colors, joy, and India’s rich cultural heritage. He stated that the festival strengthens the spirit of social harmony and unity. He added that Holi is not just a festival of colors but a vibrant expression of folk culture, classical music traditions, spiritual consciousness, and cultural values. The Chief Minister wished that the festival brings happiness and prosperity into everyone’s lives.
Ganesh Godiyal Extends Greetings
Congress State President Ganesh Godiyal participated in Holi Milan celebrations organized at various places in the Garhwal region. He attended events in Thalisain and village Rangao, where he extended Holi greetings to the local residents. He expressed hope that this sacred festival of colors brings happiness, prosperity, and well-being to everyone.
Traditional Holika Dahan in Laksar
In Laksar of Haridwar district, Holika Dahan was performed with great enthusiasm on the eve of the festival. The tradition of Holika Dahan has been observed for nearly 100 years in the railway market area of Laksar, with active participation from town residents.
During the day, women performed traditional Holi rituals and applied colors to one another. Due to the eclipse period, the worship was conducted on March 2, while Holika Dahan was performed on March 3 after the eclipse ended, along with a havan (sacred fire ritual).
After the Holika Dahan, people performed circumambulation, prayed for happiness and prosperity, and exchanged gulal. Fireworks were also set off, and prasad was distributed.
Organizers Revati Sharan Purohit, Bharat Bhushan, and Brijbhushan Karnwal said that this is a special Holi celebration for the town, in which all residents actively cooperate and participate with enthusiasm.
