Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday launched Shine Avi Learning’s “Inclusive Education Mission-2030” at a private hotel on Rajpur Road. On the occasion, he also unveiled visual learning curriculum-based books and educational materials designed for children with special needs.
The Chief Minister said that this initiative is an important step towards making education simpler, more effective, and more inclusive. He added that the objective of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is not merely to educate children but to enable them to understand, innovate, and move forward in life with confidence.
He said that the state government is promoting smart classrooms, ICT labs, PM SHRI Schools, Atal Utkrisht Schools, and digital learning materials in the field of education. In addition, facilities such as ramps, railings, accessible toilets, adapted furniture, and clean drinking water are being expanded in schools to strengthen inclusive education.
The Chief Minister said that nearly 5,800 children with special needs are currently enrolled in schools across Uttarakhand. More than 1,300 children are receiving specialised education and rehabilitation services through the state’s 11 special schools. He further stated that more than 300 special educators have already been appointed, while the recruitment process for the remaining vacancies is underway.
The Chief Minister said that the government’s goal is to develop an education system in which every child can realise their full potential. Appreciating Anita Sharma, founder of Shine Avi Learning, he said that her decision to return to Uttarakhand from abroad and introduce innovation in the field of education is an inspiring example for other members of the diaspora.
The event was attended by MLA Munna Singh Chauhan, Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari, Vice Chairman of the Media Advisory Committee Dhirendra Panwar, along with several other dignitaries.
