Dehradun. Director General of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Shatrujeet Kapoor, paid a courtesy call to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Chief Minister’s residence on Sunday. During the visit, detailed discussions were held regarding the security of the state’s international borders, development works in border areas, and improved coordination in disaster management.
The Chief Minister, while commending the ITBP’s contribution to the security of the state’s borders, stated that the ITBP’s role is crucial in a border state like Uttarakhand. He stated that the soldiers deployed in the border areas are not only playing a leading role in the country’s security but are also actively participating in development works by coordinating with local citizens.
Chief Minister Dhami stated that the state government is committed to the all-round development of border districts. Efforts are underway to connect border areas with the mainstream by strengthening road, health, communication, and other infrastructure. He expressed confidence that improved coordination between the state government and the ITBP will further enhance the security system.
ITBP Director General Shatrujeet Kapoor provided information on security management, modern resources, and the force’s preparedness in the border areas. He expressed gratitude for the support provided by the state government and assured continued coordination in the future.
The meeting also discussed the ITBP’s active role in disaster relief and rescue operations in the mountainous regions. The Chief Minister stated that the ITBP has earned the trust of the people of the state by acting promptly and sensitively during natural disasters.
The Chief Minister stated that, in line with the commitment of “Safe Border, Strong Uttarakhand,” the state government is working closely with security agencies to ensure a strong system of peace, security, and development in the border areas. He emphasized the need for regular communication and effective coordination between the state government and the ITBP in the future.
