Dehradun: In a major administrative decision taken late Tuesday evening, the Dhami government relieved several senior officials posted in Uttarakhand’s energy corporations with immediate effect. This includes the Managing Directors of Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited and Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited. All these officials had been working on service extensions after retirement.
According to the order issued by Principal Secretary (Energy) R. Meenakshi Sundaram, the Managing Director of Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited, Anil Kumar, had been granted a two-year service extension from June 30, 2024, after retirement. However, he has now been relieved of his duties with immediate effect.
In his place, Gajendra Singh Budiyal, who was serving as General Manager (Yamuna Valley) and In-charge Director (Operations), has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited.
Similarly, Sandeep Singhal, Managing Director of Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited, who had also received a two-year extension from June 30, 2024, after retirement, has been relieved with immediate effect. Ajay Kumar Singh, currently General Manager (Bhagirathi Valley) and In-charge Director (Operations), has been appointed as the new Managing Director of the corporation.
Additionally, Ajay Kumar Agrawal, Director (Projects) of Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited, has also been relieved of his duties. However, no replacement has been appointed for his position yet. This decision is being seen as a major administrative reshuffle in the energy department.
