Dehradun. Memorials and Martyr Gates (Shahid Dwar) will be constructed in memory of four brave sons of Uttarakhand who made the ultimate sacrifice for the defense and internal security of the nation. The government has issued administrative and financial sanction for their construction across four different locations in Pauri and Tehri districts.
Sainik Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state government is consistently taking decisions in the interest of soldiers, veterans, and their dependents. He added that Uttarakhand is not only Devbhoomi (Land of Gods) but also Veerbhoomi (Land of Braves), where a Sainya Dham (Military Shrine) is also being constructed.
As per the approval, a martyr memorial and gate will be built in memory of CRPF Martyr Vinod Pal Singh in his ancestral village Capers Barsar in the Balganga area of Tehri district. A martyr gate will be constructed in Kola-Sildi village of the Kaljikhal area in Pauri district in memory of Paratrooper Martyr Amit Kumar Agrawal.
Similarly, a martyr memorial will be built in Gram Boonga Malla located in the Rikhnikhal area of Pauri district in memory of CRPF Martyr Naik Bharat Singh. A martyr memorial will also be constructed in Gram Koti of the Devprayag area in Tehri district in memory of ITBP Martyr Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajendra Singh.
Ganesh Joshi remarked that these memorials and gates are not mere structures, but enduring symbols of the valor, sacrifice, and patriotism of these brave sons. They will inspire the younger generation to learn about the heroic sagas of the martyrs and strengthen feelings of national service, devotion to duty, and patriotism.
He emphasized that the sacrifice of martyrs is a priceless heritage for the nation. Respecting and ensuring the welfare of martyr families is the responsibility of society as a whole, alongside the government. The state government will continue prioritizing efforts to cherish the memories of martyrs and care for their families in the future.
