Dehradun: Lieutenant General Virendra Vats, Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), paid a courtesy call on Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at Uttarakhand Sadan in New Delhi. The meeting focused on expanding the NCC’s presence in Uttarakhand, extending its reach to border and remote areas, and developing modern training infrastructure.
During the meeting, the NCC Director General presented plans for establishing new NCC units in border regions, strengthening training facilities, and setting up a proposed NCC Academy to enable more young people in the state to join the organisation.
Chief Minister Dhami said the state government is committed to promoting patriotism, discipline, leadership, and a spirit of service among the youth. He described the NCC as one of the country’s most important institutions for fostering national character, self-confidence, and social responsibility, while making a significant contribution to nation-building.
The Chief Minister assured the NCC of the state government’s full support for all initiatives related to expanding the organisation and developing modern infrastructure in Uttarakhand. He expressed confidence that these efforts would provide the state’s youth with greater opportunities for leadership development, personality building, and service to the nation.
