Dehradun: The re-examination for NEET UG 2026 will be conducted today across 10 districts of Uttarakhand. More than 21,000 candidates are expected to appear for the medical entrance examination.

To ensure a fair and transparent process, the state government, district administration, and police department have put extensive security arrangements in place. Candidates will also be allowed to travel free of charge on buses operated by the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami instructed officials to ensure there is no negligence in conducting the examination and that all candidates are provided with a safe and peaceful environment. He reiterated the government’s commitment to conducting fair examinations.

A total of 53 examination centers have been established across the state. In Dehradun alone, around 6,800 candidates will appear at 16 centers. In Nainital District, 3,874 candidates will take the exam at 11 centers, while 2,528 candidates will appear at five centers in Udham Singh Nagar District. Special arrangements have also been made in Pithoragarh and Almora.

District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Chauhan stated that inspections of all examination centers have been completed and necessary preparations finalized. Basic facilities, including cleanliness, drinking water, and seating arrangements, have been ensured.

Senior Superintendent of Police Parmendra Singh Dobal said adequate police personnel will be deployed at all centers. CCTV surveillance will be in place, and a six-member special team led by a supervisor will monitor every three examination centers. Additional security, including personnel from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, will be deployed at sensitive locations.

The re-exam is being conducted after the previous examination was canceled due to a paper leak. Students and parents are hoping for a transparent examination process this time. The administration has advised candidates to reach their examination centers on time and follow all prescribed guidelines.
