Gairsain: During the budget session of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly in Gairsain, the state government presented key data regarding the state’s economic condition. According to a comparative chart placed before the House, Uttarakhand’s per capita income has consistently remained higher than the national average for several years.
The government presented a detailed graph comparing the state’s per capita income with the national average. The data indicates that for more than a decade, Uttarakhand’s per capita income has remained significantly ahead of the national average and is expected to grow further in the coming financial years.
According to the government, in 2011-12 the country’s per capita income was around ₹63,462, while in Uttarakhand it was about ₹1,00,314.
In 2012-13 the national average was ₹70,983, whereas Uttarakhand’s income reached ₹1,09,591.
In 2013-14 the national average stood at ₹79,118 while the state recorded ₹1,26,356.
In 2014-15 the national average was ₹86,647 while Uttarakhand reached about ₹1,36,099.
In 2015-16 the country’s average income was ₹94,797, while the state recorded ₹1,47,936.
In 2016-17 the national average was ₹1,03,870 while Uttarakhand reached ₹1,61,752.
In 2017-18 the national per capita income was ₹1,15,224 while the state reached ₹1,80,858.
Even during the COVID-19 period, the gap remained.
In 2018-19 the national average was ₹1,25,946 while Uttarakhand recorded ₹1,86,207.
In 2019-20 the national average was ₹1,32,341 while the state reached ₹1,90,558.
In 2020-21 the national per capita income was about ₹1,27,244 while Uttarakhand recorded ₹1,74,526.
According to revised estimates, in 2022-23 the national average was ₹1,69,496 while Uttarakhand reached ₹2,19,850.
For 2023-24, the national average is estimated at ₹1,88,892 while the state’s income stands at ₹2,32,457.
The government estimates that in 2024-25 the national average may reach ₹2,05,324 while Uttarakhand could reach ₹2,50,736.
By 2025-26 the national average may be ₹2,19,575 while Uttarakhand’s per capita income may rise to ₹2,73,921.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said the figures reflect the strengthening economy of the state, driven by tourism, services, infrastructure development and investment-friendly policies.
