Tanakpur. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various development projects worth a total of ₹74.54 crore for Champawat district on the occasion of the inauguration of the world-famous Maa Purnagiri fair. He said these projects will give new direction to the region’s overall development.
Inauguration of Five Projects Worth ₹64.95 Crore
The Chief Minister inaugurated a 690-meter-long two-lane motor bridge built over the Chalthi River on the Tanakpur–Jauljibi motor road, constructed at a cost of approximately ₹50.14 crore.
Additionally, he inaugurated a multipurpose building in village Khirdwari for the upliftment of the Buksa and Raji tribes, Phase-I development works of the Government Livestock Breeding Farm at Nariyal village, tourist facilities developed at Guru Gorakhdham, and lakefront development works to develop the Shyamlatal area as an eco-tourism center.
Foundation Stone Laid for Four New Projects Worth ₹9.59 Crore
The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stones for four new projects worth approximately ₹9.59 crore. These include public utility construction works approved under MLA funds, construction of a non-residential building in Tehsil Barakot, beautification of the Edi Mela site at Kalukhan, and construction of a park in the premises of Government Girls Inter College in Nagar Panchayat Banbasa.
He said the state government is continuously working with unwavering commitment to make Champawat an ideal district. These projects will create employment opportunities, promote tourism, and improve connectivity in the region. He expressed confidence that Maa Purnagiri’s blessings will remain upon the people of the state and that Uttarakhand will set new benchmarks in development.
