Rishikesh Bypass Approved by Centre, Four-Lane Road to be Built at a Cost of Over ₹1100 Crore

Dehradun: To improve traffic management in Uttarakhand, the central government has approved the Rishikesh Bypass project. The construction of this four-lane bypass will cost more than ₹1100 crore. Once completed, it is expected to provide significant relief from traffic congestion in Rishikesh.

The proposed bypass will be over 12 kilometers long, starting from the Triveni area and extending via Yog Nagari to Kharasrot. This route will ease connectivity between Dehradun, Rishikesh, and nearby regions.

The project includes modern road infrastructure such as elevated roads, bridges, and a road overbridge above railway lines to ensure safe and faster movement of vehicles.

The government believes that this bypass will benefit both local residents and tourists. It will play an important role in reducing traffic pressure in Rishikesh, especially during the Char Dham Yatra.

Improved road connectivity is also expected to boost tourism, trade, and economic activities in the region.
