Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed officials to expedite the search operation for Border Roads Organisation (BRO) Havildar Pankaj, who went missing after the Tamak Nala in Chamoli’s Niti Valley swelled following heavy rainfall. The Chief Minister took suo motu cognisance of the matter after the family appealed for help through social media.
The Chief Minister directed the concerned officials to continuously monitor the search and rescue operation being conducted to locate Havildar Pankaj and make every possible effort by effectively utilising all available resources. Teams from the Army, Border Roads Organisation, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, police, district administration, National Disaster Response Force and State Disaster Response Force are continuously engaged in the operation.
Havildar Pankaj is a resident of Pithoragarh. The District Magistrate of Pithoragarh has contacted his family and assured them of every possible assistance from the administration. The Chief Minister’s Office is also maintaining regular contact with the family and obtaining updates on the progress of the search operation.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami spoke to Havildar Pankaj’s family over the phone, inquired about their well-being and assured them that the government stands firmly with them with complete sensitivity during this difficult time. He said that every possible effort is being made to locate Havildar Pankaj and that the family will be provided with all necessary assistance.
