Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami laid the foundation stone for the second phase (km 1 to 10) of road widening work from Meethiberi to Chandni Chowk via Parwal and from Parwal to Vigyan Dham Jhajhra in the Sahaspur assembly constituency of Dehradun district, as part of the Chief Minister’s announcement. ₹1203.40 lakh will be spent on this project.
The Chief Minister said that strong road infrastructure is the foundation for the state’s all-round development. Improved connectivity will boost trade, tourism, education, and health services, strengthening the local economy.
Key announcements for Sahaspur
The Chief Minister announced several important projects for the development of the region. These include the construction of a tube well for drinking water supply in Bhauwala, the solution to the problem of waterlogging by constructing a drain from Daru Chowk to the Keshavwala River, the construction of a Mokshadham near Arcadia Barowala Park, and the construction of a causeway and road from Asanpur to the cremation ground.
Furthermore, the construction of causeways to protect agricultural land along the Asan River in Umedpur and Parwal, a causeway to protect the Ward No. 93 Barowala residential area, and a causeway to prevent soil erosion and a road to the cremation ground in Paundha were also announced. The Chief Minister stated that the government is committed to expanding infrastructure in accordance with public expectations.
Emphasis on Inclusive Development and Women Empowerment
Addressing the public gathering, the Chief Minister stated that Uttarakhand is recognized as a leading state in inclusive development in various national and international ratings. Describing women power as the backbone of the state’s economy, he said that through the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme, women from self-help groups are producing products that are competing with even large companies.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has become the fourth largest economy in the world. The state’s economy has grown 26-fold, the budget has reached over ₹1 lakh crore, power generation has increased fourfold, and reverse migration has increased by 44 percent.
A Tough Stance on Identity and Law and Order
The Chief Minister said that there will be no compromise on the cultural identity and demographic balance of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. The Uniform Civil Code, strict anti-copying laws, and action against illegal encroachment and land mafia are evidence of the government’s zero-tolerance policy. He stated that 10,000 to 12,000 appointments are planned this financial year.

MLA Sahdev Singh Pundir said that under the Chief Minister’s leadership, the state is moving forward towards development and good governance. Numerous schemes are being implemented for the benefit of youth, women, and farmers. He said that strict laws have been implemented to preserve the state’s culture and identity, and the government is working on the principle of “everyone’s support, everyone’s development, everyone’s trust.” A large number of local citizens and public representatives were present at the event.
