State Executive Committee meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, post-facto approval granted to ₹34 crore financial sanctions

Dehradun: A meeting of the State Executive Committee was held at the Secretariat on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan to approve proposals received under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and State Disaster Mitigation Fund (SDMF). Various proposals received from districts were recommended during the meeting.

The Chief Secretary directed that proposals should be forwarded to the committee through District Magistrates only after recommendation by district-level committees. He also instructed the Irrigation Department to जल्द (soon) issue an SOP for river dredging and mining.

He further directed that rivers prone to annual erosion should be identified and a channelization plan should be prepared. He also ordered a study of the Baigul River in the Sitarganj area.

Several proposals were approved in the meeting, including:

  • Landslide protection work at Charton Lodge in Nainital
  • Drainage and landslide control works in Khotila Land, Ghatdhar, and Dharchula areas of Pithoragarh
  • Drainage and landslide-related works on the Mansa Devi Hill bypass road in Haridwar

In addition, proposals related to landslide prevention, flood protection, and road safety works in Almora, Uttarkashi, Udham Singh Nagar, and Dehradun districts were also approved.

Post-facto approval was also granted for financial sanctions totaling ₹34 crore under various heads of the State Disaster Response Fund.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman, and other senior officials.
