Transfers of senior IFS officers in Uttarakhand, responsibilities of 13 officials changed

Dehradun: Long-awaited transfers of senior Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers in Uttarakhand have finally been issued. A total of 13 senior officers have been assigned new responsibilities.

According to the government order, several key positions have been reshuffled. Principal Chief Conservator Kapil Lal has been relieved of the charge of Chief Conservator (Environment) and given additional responsibility as CEO CAMPA and Planning. Meanwhile, Principal Chief Conservator S.P. Subuddhi has been relieved of nodal duties but will continue handling Forest Panchayat, Chairman Biodiversity Board, and Director of State Environment Protection and Climate Change.

Additional Principal Chief Conservator Vivek Pandey has been relieved of Forest Research Management and Training and given additional charge of Projects, Community Forestry, and CCF Admin. Naresh Kumar has been given additional responsibility as Chief Conservator (Administration).

Surendra Mehra, who recently returned from central deputation, has been assigned Forest Research Management and Training along with Vigilance and Legal Cell responsibilities. Meenakshi Joshi has been given the important nodal role along with the post of CEO of the Bamboo and Fiber Development Council.

Sushant Patnaik has been relieved of Projects and Community Forestry but given additional charge of Forest Fire and Chief Conservator (Environment). P.K. Patro has been assigned Human Resources.

Pankaj Kumar has been shifted from Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve and made Conservator of Forests (South) along with additional charge as Regional Manager of Forest Development Corporation, Ramnagar. Vinay Kumar Bhargava has been given charge of Forest Research, while Akash Verma has been assigned additional charge of Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve.

Nitish Mani Tripathi has been moved from South Kumaon to Conservator of Forests (Western Circle), while Neetu Lakshmi has been given charge of Conservator of Forests (Yamuna) along with Additional CEO CAMPA.

This decision is being seen as an important step toward making the administrative system more effective and streamlined.
