UP Government Transfers 206 PPS Officers in Major Administrative Reshuffle

Lucknow: In a major administrative exercise aimed at strengthening law enforcement and improving operational efficiency, the Uttar Pradesh government led by Yogi Adityanath on Thursday transferred 206 Provincial Police Service (PPS) officers, including 20 women officers, across districts, police commissionerates, PAC battalions, intelligence units, and training institutions.

The reshuffle includes officers who had been posted at the same location for extended periods, as well as several recently promoted officers who moved from the rank of Inspector to Circle Officer (CO) or Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). It is being regarded as one of the largest PPS-level transfer exercises undertaken by the state government in recent months.

Changes in the Chief Minister’s Security Wing

A significant change has been made in the Chief Minister’s security arrangement:

  • Jitendra Kumar-II, who was serving in the CM’s security wing, has been transferred to Shahjahanpur.
  • Vikas Kumar Jaiswal, currently serving as ACP in Lucknow, has been assigned responsibility for the Chief Minister’s security.

Additionally, the transfer order of Arvind Kumar-II from Noida to Lakhimpur Kheri has been cancelled, allowing him to continue in his current position.

Key District-Level Transfers

Several important postings have been announced:

  • Priyanka Bajpai: DSP Kannauj → ACP, Kanpur Commissionerate
  • Som Prakash Verma: DSP Bijnor → Mau
  • Sukanya Sharma: ACP Agra Commissionerate → DSP Baghpat
  • Stuti Singh: DSP Hapur → CO Sambhal
  • Satish Kumar Rai: ACP Lucknow → PAC Meerut
  • Rajiv Kumar Sisodia: CO Railway Saharanpur → ACP Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate
  • Dr Ravi Shankar: CO Muzaffarnagar → ACP Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate

Major Changes in Lucknow Commissionerate

The Lucknow Police Commissionerate has received several new ACPs:

  • Uday Pratap Singh-II transferred from Gorakhpur.
  • Rajesh Kumar Singh transferred from Agra.
  • Abhishek Kumar Pandey transferred from Kanpur Nagar.

At the same time, Satish Kumar Rai has been moved out of Lucknow to PAC Meerut.

Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate Strengthened

The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate has received experienced officers:

  • Rajiv Kumar Sisodia
  • Dr Ravi Shankar

Both have been appointed as ACPs and are expected to strengthen policing in the Noida region.

  • Anuruddh Kumar: Maharajganj → Mahoba
  • Abhishek Singh: Kaushambi → Balrampur
  • Ajay Kumar Shrotiya: Jhansi → Amroha
  • Pankaj Pant: Shahjahanpur → Rampur
  • Ashok Kumar Mishra-II: Bhadohi → 30th Battalion PAC, Gonda
  • Manish Kumar Yadav: Prayagraj Airport Security → 4th Battalion PAC, Prayagraj

Transfers were also made to commissionerates in Varanasi, PAC battalions, Local Intelligence Units (LIU), police training schools, and other specialized police branches.

Women Officers Given Important Assignments

The reshuffle includes 20 women PPS officers, many of whom have been assigned leadership roles:

  • Stuti Singh → CO Sambhal
  • Sarjana Singh → Assistant Commandant, 49th Battalion PAC, Gautam Buddh Nagar
  • Jyotishree → ACP, Kanpur Nagar Commissionerate
  • Shweta Verma → ACP, Agra Commissionerate
  • Vineeta → Police Training School, Meerut
  • Shuchita Singh → ACP, Ghaziabad Commissionerate
  • Priyanka Bajpai → ACP, Kanpur Commissionerate
  • Sukanya Sharma → DSP, Baghpat

The appointments reflect the increasing role of women officers in both operational and administrative policing positions.

Objective of the Reshuffle

According to officials, the transfers were carried out to:

  • Improve administrative efficiency.
  • Address long tenures at particular postings.
  • Accommodate recently promoted PPS officers.
  • Strengthen policing across districts, commissionerates, PAC units, and specialized branches.
  • Ensure better utilization of experienced officers.

Immediate Joining Instructions

The Uttar Pradesh Police headquarters has directed all transferred officers to be relieved from their current postings immediately and assume charge at their new assignments without delay.

The government expects the transition to be completed smoothly so that law-and-order management and policing operations continue without disruption across the state.
