Dehradun: In view of the escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, the Uttarakhand government has gone on full alert. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that all concerned state agencies have been placed on alert mode and the situation is being closely monitored.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is in continuous contact with the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi to ensure immediate action in case of any emergency. He added that as soon as directions are received from the central government or the Prime Minister’s Office, the state government will take necessary steps accordingly.
CM Dhami assured that every possible effort is being made to safely bring back Uttarakhand residents stranded in Iran or Israel. The state government is in constant touch with those present there and their families to monitor their situation.
He emphasized that ensuring the safety of all citizens of Uttarakhand is the government’s top priority. If required, a special coordination mechanism will also be established to ensure there are no obstacles in the relief and evacuation process.
It is reported that several people from Uttarakhand, including students and working professionals, are currently in Iran. Due to disruptions in international flights, their return has become difficult. In this situation, the state government is working in coordination with the Centre to facilitate safe evacuation.
The Chief Minister has appealed to residents of the state not to pay attention to rumors and to rely only on official information. He said the government is continuously monitoring the situation and any concrete decision will be shared publicly.
