Dehradun: It is a matter of pride for the Uttarakhand Police that the innovative traffic and control room management system developed for the successful conduct of Chardham Yatra 2025 has been selected for the Skoch Award presented by the prestigious Skoch Group.
Young police officer Lokjeet Singh receives national honor
The nomination “Chardham Yatra 2025: Innovative Control Room Solutions for Seamless Pilgrimage Management,” led by Dehradun Superintendent of Police (Traffic), Lokjeet Singh, will be honored at the 106th Skoch Summit in New Delhi on March 28, 2026.
This award recognizes outcome-based innovations in governance and development.
Chardham Yatra 2025: Technology-Based Traffic Management Model
Millions of pilgrims visit Uttarakhand every year during the Chardham Yatra. To make traffic management safer, more organized, and technology-based in 2025:
- An advanced control room system was installed
- Real-time monitoring was implemented
- A digital coordination system was developed
- Intelligent route diversions were implemented
- Emergency response mechanisms were strengthened
These initiatives resulted in reduced traffic congestion, safe movement of pilgrims, and prompt response in case of emergencies.
Excellent Leadership in Crisis Management
The control room responded quickly and effectively to complex situations that arose during the Chardham Yatra 2025—such as disaster situations, security challenges, and helicopter accident relief and rescue coordination.
SP Lokjeet Singh demonstrated excellent administrative efficiency and leadership by establishing the control room and multi-agency coordination within a limited timeframe.
