Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed happiness on Uttarakhand Police being honored with “President Police Colour”. He described it as a गौरवपूर्ण and historical moment of the state.
Director General of Police Deepam Seth met the Chief Minister at the Chief Minister residence and gave information about this honor.
The Chief Minister said that this honor includes Uttarakhand Police in the category of those selected police forces of the country which are given this highest national honor for excellent services. He congratulated the Director General of Police and all officers and personnel on this achievement.
He said that this honor is not only an award but the result of years of hard work, courage, discipline and dedication towards service of the nation. The police force has done commendable work in maintaining law and order, crime control, internal security and public safety.
He said that despite difficult geographical conditions of Uttarakhand, the police force has always fulfilled its responsibility with full dedication. Through modern technology and better policing, Uttarakhand Police has also succeeded in winning public trust.
He said that during various natural disasters including the 2013 Kedarnath disaster, Uttarakhand Police showed courage and humanity and helped people. Along with this, successful operation of security and crowd management in big events like Mahakumbh, Char Dham Yatra and Kanwar Yatra also shows efficiency of police.
He said that in areas like women safety, cyber crime control, tourism security and community policing also Uttarakhand Police is continuously doing better work.
The Chief Minister said that getting this honor in the silver jubilee year of state formation is a matter of pride for Uttarakhand. The state government is fully committed for modernization of police force and their welfare.
Director General of Police Deepam Seth said that this honor is the result of hard work, dedication and duty of every officer and personnel of Uttarakhand Police. He said that this achievement will inspire the police force to do even better work in future.
