Uttarakhand Police Receives National Award for Passport Verification Excellence

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand Police has received national recognition for its outstanding performance in passport verification.

For efficient and timely verification of passport applications during the 2025–26 financial year, the Government of India honored Uttarakhand Police with the “Institutional Performance Award for State Police.”

The award was presented by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to Additional Director General of Police (Administration) A.P. Anshuman at a ceremony held at Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan.

Director General of Police Deepam Seth said the achievement reflects sustained efforts to make passport verification more transparent, citizen-friendly, and time-bound. Regular monitoring of verification work across districts and effective use of technology contributed to the recognition.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated the police department, stating that providing transparent, efficient, and high-quality public services remains a top government priority. He described the award as a symbol of strong coordination between the state government and the police department.
