Dehradun: Uttarakhand has been honored with the prestigious “Best State for Promotion of Aviation Ecosystem” award at the International Aviation Conference and Exhibition, Wings India 2026. This award recognizes the state government’s effective efforts, policy support, and strengthening of the aviation ecosystem in the civil aviation sector.
The award was presented by Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu and Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), Samir Kumar Sinha, during the event held at Begumpet Airport, Hyderabad.
Present on the occasion were Sachin Kurve, Secretary of Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA), Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ashish Chauhan, Additional Chief Executive Officer Sanjay Singh Tolia, and Head of Operations Captain Amit Sharma.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his happiness over this achievement. He said that this award is a testament to Uttarakhand’s comprehensive aviation policy, better administrative coordination, and our commitment to strengthening air connectivity in the state. Connecting mountainous and remote areas with air services has been our priority, which has not only boosted tourism but also significantly improved disaster management and healthcare services.
Chief Minister Dhami said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and with the support of the central government, the expansion of air services, the successful implementation of the UDAN scheme, and the development of modern aviation infrastructure are rapidly establishing Uttarakhand as an emerging aviation hub.
