Dehradun. Uttarakhand has climbed four places in the national Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) rankings, jumping from 13th to 9th position as of July 2026. Additionally, the state achieved 3rd place nationally on the Inter-operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS 2.0) dashboard. Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan chaired a State Apex Committee meeting to review progress and directed officials to further improve performance metrics over the next two months.
Key Technical Initiatives & Infrastructure Upgrades
- ICJS 2.0 Site Coverage: Encompasses 242 state sites including 166 police stations, 64 prosecution offices, 10 prisons, and 2 Forensic Science Laboratories (FSL). Upgrade work has been completed at 31 police stations.
- Digital Systems: Integration across police, prosecution, prisons, and the judiciary using digital frameworks like e-Sakshya, Nyayshruti, e-Summon, e-Sign, and MedLeaPR.
- Dedicated Data Recovery Center: The Chief Secretary directed ITDA to build a separate Data Recovery Center for CCTNS to guarantee operational continuity and data security.
- Standardized Data Entry: Home Department and ITDA were instructed to create validation checks ensuring names, complete addresses, mobile numbers, and emails are accurately logged at the FIR stage to optimize e-Summons execution.
