Haridwar: Sadhus and saints seem satisfied with the government’s decision to teach verses from the Bhagavad Gita in Uttarakhand schools. The saints welcomed the government’s decision. Reacting to this decision in Haridwar, the saints said that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s government is continuously working for the protection and promotion of Sanatan Dharma. Teaching Gita verses to students in the school curriculum is highly commendable.

The sadhus and saints have welcomed the decision to impart knowledge of the Bhagavad Gita to children in the state’s government schools. The saints said that the knowledge of the Gita will develop moral values ​​and knowledge of Sanatan Dharma in the students, which will be useful in their lives later on. Following the announcement by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the recitation of verses from the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita has now been made mandatory in the state’s government schools. This decision will be implemented with immediate effect for students from classes 6 to 12. The education department has also issued an order to this effect. The government says that the objective of this initiative is to connect students with Indian culture, moral values, and philosophy of life, so that along with education, values ​​can also be developed.

The saint community in Haridwar has openly supported this decision. Shri Mahant Ravindrapuri Maharaj, President of the Akhara Parishad, said that this announcement made during the month of Sawan has now been implemented. He said that the recitation of the Gita should not be limited to schools only, but should also be taught in colleges. This is a positive and inspiring message for society. Jagadguru Shankaracharya Rajarajeshwarashram Maharaj also praised this decision. He said that the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is one of the most revered scriptures in the world, and all the major philosophies of the country are rooted in the principles of the Gita.
