Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off a specialized technical survey team from the CM Camp Office to conduct GPS-GIS mapping of 100 prominent trekking and hiking routes across the state. The project is managed by the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB).
Tourism Secretary Dhiraj Garbyal explained that once mapping is complete, an online/offline GPS navigation mobile app will be launched, allowing trekkers to navigate seamlessly even in remote regions without cellular service.
Tourism Minister Ganesh Joshi, Additional Secretary Abhishek Ruhela, and Tourism Additional Director Poonam Chand were present during the flag-off ceremony.
