Dehradun: As the Pushkar Singh Dhami-led government completed five years in office, the Uttarakhand Government described the period as one marked by development, good governance, and historic policy decisions. In a statement issued by the government, it said that under the guiding principle of “Vikalp Rahit Sankalp” (Unwavering Resolve), the Chief Minister has taken several significant decisions aimed at positioning Uttarakhand among the country’s leading states.
According to the government, the key achievements of the tenure include becoming the first state in India to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), enacting an anti-conversion law, introducing provisions to recover damages from rioters, and implementing a stringent anti-cheating law for recruitment examinations. The government claims these measures have strengthened law and order and enhanced transparency in recruitment processes.
The statement also highlighted the government’s focus on infrastructure development. Major initiatives cited include the Rishikesh–Karnaprayag Rail Project, the Char Dham Road Project, the Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib ropeway projects, expansion of Jolly Grant and Pantnagar airports, and the extension of helicopter services across the state.
In the economic sector, the government listed improved management of the Char Dham Yatra and Kanwar Yatra, efforts to attract investment, implementation of the Green Hydrogen Policy, and the creation of local employment opportunities as significant accomplishments. It also claimed that investment proposals worth thousands of crores of rupees have been translated into projects on the ground.
In the areas of women’s and youth empowerment, the government highlighted the provision of 30 percent horizontal reservation for women in government jobs, initiatives to make women self-reliant through self-help groups, and measures to expand employment opportunities for young people.
The government stated that under Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s leadership, Uttarakhand has entered a new phase of development and good governance, and continuous efforts are being made to establish the state among the leading states of India.
