Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that youth power serves as the strongest foundation for building a developed and self-reliant Uttarakhand. Speaking on Wednesday at the Yuva Sankalp Diwas (Youth Resolve Day) event held at Rangers Ground, he remarked that the energy, talent, hard work, and innovation of the youth will play a decisive role in shaping the state’s future. During the event, the Chief Minister also toured a photo exhibition set up at the venue.
Expressing gratitude to the youth of the state for celebrating his birthday as Yuva Sankalp Diwas, the Chief Minister said that being amidst young people was his greatest birthday gift. He noted that in the eyes of the youth, he sees the future of a developed and self-reliant Uttarakhand, emphasizing that the present generation will play a pivotal role in fulfilling the vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the government is expanding opportunities in education, skill development, employment, self-employment, entrepreneurship, and sports so that youth do not feel forced to leave their homes or villages to realize their dreams. He urged young people to transition from being job seekers to job creators.
Key highlights from the address include:
Adapting to Modern Technologies: Addressing changing job landscapes due to AI, robotics, automation, and digital technologies by prioritizing modern skill development.
- Industrial Expansion in Hill Districts: Decision to establish special industrial areas in Chamoli, Pauri, and Almora to drive local economic growth and employment.
- State Youth Commission: Formation of the Youth Commission to integrate youth aspirations into policy-making, promote digital empowerment, and build awareness against drug abuse and cybercrime.
- Anti-Copying Law: Implementation of strict anti-copying legislation to ensure absolute transparency in recruitment examinations.
The Chief Minister urged the youth to adopt three resolves on his birthday:
Set ambitious life goals and pursue them with discipline and dedication.
Stay completely away from drugs and help peers do the same.
Contribute a portion of one’s knowledge, experience, and capability back toward the development of Uttarakhand, regardless of one’s chosen career field.
Cabinet Ministers Khajan Das and Ganesh Joshi, Rajya Sabha MPs Mahendra Bhatt and Naresh Bansal, MLAs Vinod Chamoli, Savita Kapoor, and Brij Bhushan Gairola, alongside Dehradun Mayor Saurabh Thapliyal and other senior officials, were present at the occasion.
