Tehri: Sixty-eight meritorious students and teachers from the Devprayag Assembly constituency will embark on an educational tour under the Bharat Darshan programme on September 16. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met the students participating in the 10th edition of Bharat Darshan after the Chief Minister Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan programme at Swami Manmathan Auditorium in Kirtinagar and extended his best wishes to them.
The Chief Minister interacted with the students and enquired about the preparations for their journey. He said that the Bharat Darshan educational tour provides students with an opportunity to closely understand India’s diversity, history, culture, science, technology and development. Such experiences help broaden their knowledge and perspective beyond the boundaries of the classroom.
He urged the students to understand the distinctive features of different parts of the country, learn from their achievements and share their experiences with their peers. The Chief Minister said that visits to prestigious institutions could play an important role in shaping students’ future. He advised them to set goals in life, make continuous efforts to achieve them, and always maintain respect for their teachers and parents.
Dhami said that in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India, efforts are being made to make Uttarakhand a leading state in various sectors of development. He said Uttarakhand has secured the top position among the country’s Himalayan states in the field of sustainable development. The state has also implemented important laws such as the Uniform Civil Code and the anti-copying law, which are inspiring other states as well.
The Chief Minister congratulated Devprayag MLA Vinod Kandari for the Bharat Darshan initiative. He said that successfully running such a programme continuously for 10 years was a major achievement. The initiative has strengthened the spirit of healthy competition among students and motivated them to perform better. The Chief Minister said that around 1,000 students are getting an opportunity to travel across India this year, and efforts are being made to increase the number to 2,000 in the coming years.
MLA Vinod Kandari said that several difficulties were faced when the Bharat Darshan scheme was launched, but it has produced positive results. He said the programme has increased competition among students to perform better, with several students now scoring as high as 96 per cent.
During the Bharat Darshan educational tour, the students will visit various historical, cultural and educational destinations as well as prominent institutions across the country. Kankalata, Ayush, Priyanshu and Raghav Kentura were honoured for their outstanding writing.
District Magistrate Nitika Khandelwal, Senior Superintendent of Police Shweta Choubey, Chief Development Officer Varuna Agarwal, Vice-Chancellor Prakash Singh, BJP district president Uday Rawat and other public representatives and officials were present on the occasion.
