Dehradun: The first full-fledged cabinet meeting after the cabinet expansion was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. A total of 16 important proposals across various departments were approved.
Key decisions include:
- Soft loans of up to ₹10 lakh at nominal interest rates for judicial employees
- Approval of consultancy proposals above ₹1 crore in the Public Works Department
- Reduction of minimum service period for administrative posts in the Forest Department from 25 to 22 years to simplify promotions
- Extension of electricity subsidy provisions until March 31, 2025
Several important decisions related to the Home Department were also taken:
- Approval to implement rules framed in 2025
- New rules approved for Uttarakhand Home Guards
- Permission to hire experts for training police personnel after implementation of the Indian Penal Code reforms
Under the Personnel Department:
- Candidates who missed recruitment for constable and sub-inspector posts due to age limits will be given another opportunity (including police, PAC, fire services, and platoon posts)
Other key decisions:
- Formation of a subcommittee to study aided schools under the Secondary Education Department
- Target set to procure 2.2 lakh metric tonnes of wheat under the Food and Civil Supplies Department
- The state government will bear mandi fees equal to that provided by the central government on wheat and paddy procurement
Under the Uttarakhand Veer Udyami Yojana:
- 10% reservation in the Chief Minister Self-Employment Scheme for ex-servicemen and former Agniveers
- Additional 5% subsidy benefit for them
Additionally, proposals related to the SETU Commission under the Planning Department were approved, along with the conclusion of the fifth State Assembly session.
