Dehradun. The fourth meeting of the Uttarakhand Investment and Infrastructure Development Board (UIIDB) was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The progress of key infrastructure projects in the state was reviewed in detail.
The Chief Minister directed officials to expedite major projects such as Haridwar Ganga Corridor, Sharda Riverfront Corridor, and Rishikesh Ganga Corridor and prioritize their execution.
He gave strict instructions that visible progress in these projects must be seen within the next six months. He emphasized that the purpose of UIIDB is to promote investment and strengthen infrastructure, and all departments must work with coordination and responsibility.
CM Dhami stressed simplifying procedural complexities in project implementation so that development plans can be executed on time. He said clear timelines should be set for every project and adhered to strictly.
He also instructed continuous monitoring and review to avoid delays. For the Sharda Corridor, he emphasized speeding up work, ensuring land availability, and studying landslide sensitivity to adopt necessary safety measures.
He said that riverfront development and beautification of ghats along the Sharda River will provide better facilities to pilgrims and tourists. Keeping the upcoming Kumbh Mela in mind, he directed strengthening cleanliness, beautification, and infrastructure at ghats in Haridwar and Rishikesh.
The Chief Minister said providing better facilities to pilgrims is the government’s top priority. He emphasized maintaining quality, transparency, and timeliness in all projects to accelerate overall development and make Uttarakhand an attractive investment destination.
He added that the main objective of the Sharda and Ganga corridors is to promote religious tourism, strengthen the local economy, and provide better facilities to pilgrims. Both projects will be developed with different designs while boosting infrastructure and tourism simultaneously.
