PM Modi to visit Uttarakhand for the 23rd time, strong connection with the state

Dehradun: Narendra Modi shares a special connection with Uttarakhand and is set to visit the state for the 23rd time on April 14, 2026. He will inaugurate the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway and address a large public gathering during this visit.

This will be his 14th visit to the state during the tenure of Pushkar Singh Dhami. His first visit to Uttarakhand as Prime Minister was on September 11, 2015, when he visited Dayanand Saraswati Ashram.

The Prime Minister has deep religious faith in Kedarnath Temple and has visited it six times after becoming PM. His visits have led to a significant rise in the number of pilgrims at religious destinations like Kedarnath and Adi Kailash. He has also promoted winter tourism, boosting year-round tourism in the state.

According to the Chief Minister, PM Modi shares a deep “karm and marm” connection with Uttarakhand. Under his leadership, development projects worth over ₹2 lakh crore have been implemented in the state. Major infrastructure developments include the Char Dham All Weather Road, the Rishikesh–Karnaprayag railway project, ropeway projects, and expansion of air services.
