Dehradun/Rudraprayag: The Pushkar Singh Dhami government has intensified action against those spreading misleading and baseless information regarding the Char Dham Yatra. With two new FIRs registered in Rudraprayag district, a total of three FIRs have been filed so far in such cases.
During social media monitoring, some videos and reels made false and misleading claims about the arrangements at Kedarnath Dham. These included claims that devotees were being sent back without darshan, that despite standing in queues for hours they were not getting darshan, and questions were raised on police arrangements and alleged mismanagement.
The administration termed these claims baseless and stated that devotees are being given darshan in a phased and well-organized manner, and that the travel arrangements are running smoothly.
Government strict on misinformation
Chief Minister Dhami has given clear instructions to officials that strict legal action should be taken immediately against any rumor, fake news, or misinformation related to the Char Dham Yatra. Social media platforms are being monitored 24×7, and suspicious content is being identified and legal action is being initiated.
Action against the operators of the concerned social media IDs has begun, while other suspicious videos are also under investigation. The administration has indicated that more action may follow in the coming days.
No tolerance for playing with faith
The state government has clearly stated that any attempt to harm the dignity of the Char Dham Yatra, the faith of devotees, and the image of Uttarakhand will not be tolerated. The government says that this campaign against misinformation will continue in a consistent and effective manner.
