CM Dhami Attends Maharana Pratap Jayanti Celebration in Nanakmatta, Honors Meritorious Students

Dehradun/Nanakmatta: Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Jayanti celebration held in Nanakmatta on Saturday and inaugurated the program by lighting the ceremonial lamp. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also honored meritorious students who performed exceptionally in board examinations by presenting them certificates of appreciation.

The Chief Minister said that remembering a great national hero like Maharana Pratap on the sacred land of Nanakmatta Sahib is a matter of pride. He stated that Maharana Pratap was not merely the ruler of Mewar, but an eternal symbol of India’s pride, dignity, and self-respect. His life remains an inspiring saga of sacrifice, struggle, courage, and patriotism.

Dhami said Maharana Pratap’s life teaches that one should never compromise on principles, even in difficult circumstances, when it comes to protecting the nation, culture, and self-respect. He also described the traditions, folk songs, and nature-connected lifestyle of the Tharu community as an invaluable cultural heritage of Uttarakhand.

The Chief Minister stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several historic steps have been taken for the welfare and dignity of tribal communities. Through schemes like Eklavya Model Residential Schools, Van Dhan Yojana, and Tribal Development Missions, efforts are being made to connect tribal communities with the mainstream.

He added that the state government is continuously working for tribal welfare. Under the Atal Housing Scheme, income limits have been made more practical and housing assistance has been increased. In Udham Singh Nagar alone, assistance worth nearly ₹3 crore has been provided under the scheme.

Apart from this, many tribal families have benefited from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and PM Janman Yojana. Referring to the education sector, the Chief Minister said crores of rupees have been allocated for the development of Ashram schools, hostels, and ITI institutions. ₹4 crore has been sanctioned for a girls’ hostel in Khatima, while schools and hostels costing over ₹16 crore are being built in Bazpur. A 100-bed hostel is also under construction in Gadarpur.

The Chief Minister further stated that self-employment opportunities are being promoted for tribal women through livelihood missions and Van Dhan centers. Women have been provided revolving funds worth over ₹1 crore and investment assistance exceeding ₹8 crore.

Before the event, Chief Minister Dhami visited Nanakmatta Gurudwara Sahib and prayed for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the state.

Several dignitaries, including Shiv Arora, Ajay Maurya, Vikas Sharma, Prem Singh Rana, Anil Kapoor Dabbu, Nitin Singh Bhadauria, and Ajay Ganpati, were present during the occasion.
