Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has issued a strong warning to officials regarding delays in development projects in Uttarakhand. Reviewing 12 major projects worth ₹6,949.61 crore through the Pragati Portal on Monday, he stated that strict action would be taken against officers responsible for unnecessary delays.
The Chief Minister directed that all projects with more than 50 percent of work completed must be finished by October 15, 2026. He emphasized that timely execution of key infrastructure projects is essential to achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Developed India 2047.
Projects Reviewed
The review covered projects from several departments, including:
- Transport
- Energy
- Public Works Department (PWD)
- National Highways
- Border Roads Organisation (BRO)
CM Dhami stated that projects related to the Char Dham pilgrimage, strategic border roads, power infrastructure, and transportation facilities are fundamental to Uttarakhand’s development. Their completion will boost tourism, trade, investment, and employment opportunities across the state.
New Monitoring Mechanism
To ensure timely completion, the Chief Minister announced a stricter monitoring framework:
- Monthly reviews at the Chief Minister’s level.
- Reviews every 10 days at the Chief Secretary’s level.
- Special action plans for projects showing unsatisfactory progress.
He also instructed departments to expedite pending issues related to:
- Forest land transfer
- Environmental clearances
- Land acquisition
- Compensation payments
District Magistrates have been directed to regularly monitor pending cases and ensure speedy resolution at the district level.

- Haridwar Greenfield Spur Project
- Haridwar Bypass Widening Project
- Kashipur Bypass Project
- Askot-Lipulekh Road Upgradation
- Mana Pass Road
- Char Dham Road Project
- Banbasa 220 kV Substation
- Rudraprayag 220 kV Substation
- Ramnagar Inter-State Bus Terminal
- Tadikhet Depot and Workshop
- Ranikhet Bus Terminal
The Chief Minister reiterated that all departments must work in close coordination to ensure these strategically important projects are completed within the stipulated timelines.
