Chamoli: Addressing the “Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan Ke Dwar” programme held under the “Seva, Good Governance and Dedication” fortnight at the Police Ground in Gopeshwar on Wednesday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said the state government’s objective is to bring governance to people’s doorsteps and ensure the prompt resolution of public grievances.
He said the campaign serves as an effective bridge between the government and the people by reducing the distance between the administration and citizens.
The Chief Minister stated that during the first phase of the campaign, more than six lakh people participated across the state, and over 60,000 public grievances were resolved on the spot. He added that the government is continuously working to develop border areas, strengthen infrastructure, and ensure the effective implementation of welfare schemes.
Dhami said Uttarakhand’s economy has been strengthened through the successful hosting of G20 meetings, the National Games, the promotion of winter tourism, investment agreements, and the expansion of the tourism sector. He also said that more than 34,000 youths have secured government jobs through the state’s transparent recruitment process.
Highlighting development in Chamoli district, the Chief Minister said over 42,000 women have joined Self-Help Groups, while more than 25,000 women have become Lakhpati Didis. Under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, over 48,000 farmers in the district have received financial assistance exceeding ₹196 crore. He also noted that 872 new homestays have been established in Chamoli under the Deendayal Homestay Scheme.
He said the Rishikesh–Karnaprayag Rail Project is progressing rapidly, while the state’s heli-ambulance service has provided timely medical assistance to 76 critically ill patients from Chamoli since 2024.
During the programme, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation stones and inaugurated 63 development projects worth ₹155.36 crore for the district.
Strict Action in Badrinath Temple Offering Theft Case
Referring to the alleged theft of offerings at the Badrinath Temple, Chief Minister Dhami described the incident as an extremely serious matter. He said that the strictest possible action would be taken against those found responsible and made it clear that no accused person would be spared.
He also asserted that the government would not allow the issue to be politicized and that the matter would be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.
